Ágætis Byrjun
A good beginning, a good day, in Iceland.
Weather: Perfect.
After comparison, we took a Toyota Yaris from Hertz. The Hertz lady had shown me her Icelandic warmness and friendliness.
We went out from airport and felt the cold wind slashing on our face, yes, this is Iceland! Soon we set out on the Icelandic road, accompanied by beautiful dusk light, and the rugged landscapes of Iceland, to the beautiful accident of men and the Earth, the Blue Lagoon.
The Blue Lagoon (Bláa lónið) is a geothermal spa located in Grindavik which is fed by water from the nearby geothermal plant. If it was still day time, the view must be very amazing.
Mist and smoke, coupled with the misty blue water, and rocks. The water kept me warm in this weather at 1 or 2 deg Celcius.
I enjoyed my first ever steam-spa, charcoal-spa, geothermal-spa and applying the cream or mud of Blue Lagoon (which costs a big fortune to buy from their retail stores) on my face.
How could we not take some pictures to commemorate these so many once-in-a-lifetime?
3 hours to Laugavatn passing by the sleeping Reykjavik, before the next day's Classic Golden Circle adventure.
Finally, presenting a song, Ágætis Byrjun, by the Icelandic band Sigur Rós which means a good beginning. That really fits into a good start that I had in Iceland.
